Over the last 18 months our ongoing investment in efficiency has meant that we have been able to absorb cost increases which our business has faced. We know that this price continuity has been appreciated by our customers during difficult market conditions, however ongoing cost pressures means that we will now have to pass these on. Therefore customers pricing projects should be aware that there will be a price increase on bricks and clay products from 1st July 2010.
Customers will be notified of the details during May. Your local Ibstock representative or sales office will be happy to assist you with any enquiries.
Over 26% of the UK's carbon dioxide emissions come from residential use. Improving the insulation of our homes is one of the quickest, easiest and most cost effective ways of reducing these emissions. Cavity wall insulation has been shown to be effective, however for the 6.2 million houses built without cavities the two common options has been either to insulate the interior walls, at the sacrifice of room area and decorative features. This involves significant disruption to the homeowner as well the creation of cold bridges at floor and ceiling levels. The other common alternative is to use an insulated render system on the exterior walls. These dramatically change the appearance of an area and often require regular maintenance and redecoration.
BrickShield™ provides a cost effective option to thermally upgrade a façade yet still maintain the beauty of natural clay bricks with all the benefits of sustainability, durability and choice. This is particularly important in conservation and areas of planning sensitivity.

Two new products have been added to the Brunswick Range from Cattybrook. The Brunswick Orange (0651) is a monochromatic light orange wirecut brick with the Brunswick Multi Orange (0652) exhibiting subtle shades of orange through to light purple. Both bricks, with the same Brunswick creased texture that has proved popular with developers, small builders and specifiers, introduce a more contemporary feel to the Brunswick colour palette. These products are targeted at all sectors in the Southern counties and Wales. Click here to order your sample.
South Holmwood has introduced a new family of two bricks to target the refurbishment market in London & the South East. The Reigate Medium Multi (4145) is a sanded light red multi wirecut displaying flashes of grey-blue multi-colouring across the face. The Reigate Purple (4148) exhibits similar colouring but the multi-colouring is more intense with the red colouring much reduced. However both bricks are wirecuts with a slightly distressed face and arises giving the bricks a less precise shape and simulating pressed stock bricks that were prevalent in the South East but no longer available. Both products have already been well-received by many builders' merchants in London & the South East.
The Mancunian Red (4147) is targeted at a totally different market. A light orange-red sanded wirecut, this brick displays the natural fired colour of the local clay. However its precise shape and matt finish created by the sand coating make this an ideal brick for the specification market throughout the UK, especially on commercial developments where a single colour cladding material is required to showcase the architectural merits of a project. The Tradesman Antique Grey (0314) from Atlas has been added in response to a demand across the country to add further bricks to this popular range now consisting of 8 different bricks. All manufactured at the same factory, existing merchant customers will be able to add this product as part of a mixed load or new merchant customers create a mixed load of any of the Tradesman Range. With a similar texture to the Tradesman Light, the Antique Grey is a darker brick with shades of black through to light grey. Click here to order your sample.
